ActionFigureXchange.com (AF Xchange) is an open market exchange offering a fresh alternative for the way individuals can manage their action figure collections.  This new system improves upon the traditional auction process that we`ve come to know, and provides collectors with a new method for buying, selling, and valuing action figures.  AF Xchange offers the opportunity to buy or sell figures quickly and conveniently in an open marketplace which value figure prices in “real-time” . 

Much like an investor can purchase shares of company stock instantly through a brokerage website, AF Xchange users can immediately buy or sell real action figures through our website, at current market prices. Instead of purchasing shares of stock in companies like Disney, Microsoft or Hasbro, AF Xchange allows you to buy figures like Darth Vader, Optimus Prime, Cobra Commander and many more. Figures are listed for sale directly on ActionFigureXchange.com by fellow users.  Figure prices rise and fall depending on the buy/sell activity for a figure during a typical trading day. Action figures can be traded on AF Xchange 24 hours a day / 7 days a week.

Each figure traded on AF Xchange has a "Bid/Buy Price" (what a potential buyer is currently willing to pay for the figure), an "Ask/Sell Price" (what a seller is currently willing to sell the figure for), and a “Last Sale Price” (the last executed sale price for the figure).  All three values are arrived at by taking the avergae of the last five(5) bid prices, ask prices, and sale prices.

Buyers have the choice to purchase figures at a seller`s current asking price, or make a counter offer back to the seller with their own desired bid/buy price. A seller can accept the new counter price from the buyer, counter back to the buyer, or reject the offer and keep the figure actively listed on the Xchange to entertain new offers from other potential buyers. 

If the seller makes another counter offer back to the buyer, the buyer has the option to accept it, reject it, or counter back yet again.  This process guarantees that each party has an equal say in what the final sale price will be. 

Example

All transactions that take place on ActionFigureXchange.com will be completed privately between both parties.  PayPal or other agreed upon payment methods will be used to complet ethe transfer of funds from buyer to seller.  Confirmation emails containing the appropriate user`s contact information will be sent to both parties upon completion of a transaction.

ONLINE AUCTIONS ARE MORE EXPENSIVE THAN EVER BEFORE
 

While online auctions have revolutionized the way buyers and sellers deal with one another, the cost to sell your action figures have become much higher than ever before.  Insertion and final value fees severely diminish the amount one can generate from the sale of an action figure.  If that`s not enough, a seller must frequently pay additional fees for add-ons like gallery options, bold or highlighted graphics, subtitles, obtaining a featured status, or even to post extra pictures!! The list goes on and on.  As a result, sellers are finding themselves increasingly disadvantaged because they are not receiving maximum value for what their figures are worth.

ONLINE AUCTIONS TAKE A LONG TIME TO COMPLETE

Most auction listings typically run for at least 3 days, but most take anywhere from 5-7 days, with some even taking as many as 10 days to end!  During this process, buyers must engage in a bidding war to attempt to win the item, and there is no guarantee that by auction`s end they will be the high bidder.  If not, the buyer must start all over again by finding the figure they`d like to buy in another auction listing.  Sellers must also wait until the auction has ended to see if someone bids on the item in order for it to sell.  Sellers must also spend time answering questions about the item, and keeping track of the auction listing itself.

At AF Xchange, collectors can buy or sell figures immediately without inconvenient delay of a lengthy auction process.  Sellers will receive their proceeds faster without having to list a figure over a number of days.  Buyers are able to purchase the figure they want without fighting over it out with other bidders.  Sellers can list a figure on the Xchange and simply leave it there for as long as they want at no additional cost.  No questions, no hassle, no problem.  Buyers can choose the available figure they would like to purchase, and simply buy it.  No haggling or bidding is required. 

ONLINE AUCTIONS CONTAIN UNCERTAINTY FOR BUYERS AND SELLERS

Through the auction process, sellers have no real guarantee they will receive the optimum desired dollar amount for their figure unless they set a reserve price, which typically costs an additional fee when creating an auction listing.  Therefore, most sellers just list the item without any reserve price, and hope for the best.  This is not an effective way to sell because a person must honor the binding contract if their figure receives a bid, regardless of how low the price may be.  As a result, a seller may not receive anywhere near the fair market value of their figure.  This can be due to a number of reasons which are completely out of the seller`s control such as: the date the auction ends, number of similar listings, or not enough keywords in the auction title to make it show up in primary listing pages.  These are all factors which the seller must take into account prior to listing his or her figure.

AT AF Xchange, market prices are calculated from transactions that occur based on supply and demand generated among collectors trading on the Xchange.  This provides collectors with the certainty of knowing exactly what they can expect to pay for a figure at any given moment.  Sellers also need not worry about price since they can set the asking price they wish to receive for the figure.

While the sale is still determined by demand, the seller controls the final price they are willing to accept.  The figure will either sell for the asking price, or the buyer can make a counter offer.  The seller will ultimately have the choice to accept the buyer`s lower offer, or reject it and keep the figure listed on the Xchange.  This dialogue between buyer and seller creates a fair market environment.

ONLINE AUCTION PRICES CAN BE UNFAIRLY MANIPULATED
 

Online Auction sites continue to experience difficulty protecting buyers from illegal selling practices designed to inflate the price of an auction listing.  A common practice known as "shill bidding" has put buyers at a disadvantage when it comes to paying fair market value for any given action figure.  Sellers often create false user identities to bid on their own auctions to artificially drive up the final sale price. This forces honest bidders to pay more for an item than they normally would had the "shill bidder" not tampered with the price.

At AF Xchange,  we`ve created an environment where a figure`s value is based strictly on its demand among buyers on the Xchange.  This creates a fair market value for all action figures.  Since AF Xchange is not an auction process, there is no opportunity for outside interferance on listings.  Buyers can rest assured knowing that the price they are paying will always be a direct result of their one on one negotiation with the seller..  Simply put, when another collector chooses to purchase a figure, the ASKING PRICE displayed on the Xchange is the price you will pay, there is no bidding process involved.  A buyer can make an immediate purchase or make a counter offer for the seller to accept or reject.  It is then up to the seller to determine if they will accept the counter offer, counter back to the potential buyer, or keep their figure listed on the Xchange if they believe they can receive a better price in the open market . Through this non-obligatory selling format, collectors only sell when they are satisfied with the offer they receive while the buyer only pays a price they willingly accept; either the current Ask Price, or their own counter price offer, which the seller accepts.
